We finally made the big switch!! Okay, maybe not a big deal to you – but for me, it’s exciting haha! We officially upgraded our old, huge, black, bedroom furniture for beautiful white! I AM SO HAPPY! It’s funny what things make you happy at the age of 26…19 year old me could care less about bedroom furniture. (Probably why I bought big, ugly furniture before) Anyways, we switched out our old dresser and nightstands with the Farmington line from Ameriwood Home .The Farmington line is Ameriwood Home’s newest line that is made from MDF and particleboard. It’s a farmhouse-style design with white grain wood that you would see in an old barn or popular reclaimed pieces of furniture! If you are new here, check out our living room remodel here!
The 6 drawer dresser and two nightstands we chose are in Ivory Oak (white) and really lighten our bedroom space up. It’s crazy how much bigger a room can look with different furniture! The instructions suggest having two people help set up the dresser for the easiest/fastest way possible….buuuuuut we have a toddler so that means one of us needed to always be with her – my fiancé did this one solo! The dresser comes in two boxes and does have a lot of pieces, but it’s not as hard as it looks (according to the hubs) He put together the body of the dresser first which took a few hours solo. He set it up pretty late, so he finished the drawers in the morning. If we both were helping like the instructions said, it would have been a few hour project! Both the dresser and the nightstands had easy instructions and everything was labeled correctly.
The nightstands were VERY easy and quick to put together! They both took him under 45 minutes (he was happy about this haha) I love that the Farmington set is lower to the ground, it makes the room feel cozier to me. The drawer in the nightstand is a perfect size…., especially for my junk 😉
The Farmington line by Ameriwood Home is also available in “Rustic” and “Weather Oak”…they are both gorgeous! I also really like that Ameriwood includes a wall anchor kit to secure the dresser to the wall! Extra safe for our daughter. Check out the dresser here,
and the nightstands here.
Next up for our bedroom is something above the bed! Pictures? Mirror? Painting? not sure yet….suggestions?
Leave me a comment if you do. xx
