Hey babes! I’m finally getting around to writing about our fall Maine adventure! It’s been a crazy couple weeks trying to get adjusted back into life after vacation. Not to mention Sterling’s first birthday is in couple weeks, so I’ve been planning that! We had such a great time in Maine though, and wish we were able to stay longer. The whole purpose of this trip was bringing mine and Ryan’s family together!! My dad and his girlfriend finally got to meet Ryan’s parents! (3.5 years later + a baby lol) I know, I know, why so long? But, that’s what happens when everyone lives in different states!! We’re so happy to finally have brought them together on this trip, and really had a great time. Â We stayed in this super cute cabin, in Poland, Maine. It was right on the lake, which was gorgeous. The cabin was very rustic, and Ryan joked that this is the closest I’ll ever get to camping. (he’s right) Everything inside was wood, literally from the ceiling to the floor, and we had an awesome fireplace! It was pretty chilly at night, in the 40s. Hoodie & fire weather!!
Â
The views from the dock were my favorite, and I enjoyed sitting out here during sunset! (My favorite time of the day) Sterling loved it out there too, and always got a smile on her face! It was pretty cloudy and overcast during our visit, but that didn’t stop us from being outside! Check out our sunset views, you’ll want to book a flight asap. Â
Insanely beautiful, right? There’s just something about being on the water during sunset, that makes my heart explode! I could have stayed in this moment forever.
We spent some quality time with my dad, who actually lives on the lake above, and Sterling loved spending time with her “Gruffy”! Seeing them together melts my heart, seriously.
We took lots of walks, and enjoyed the fresh air of Maine!! It was so relaxing just being in nature, and hanging with my pops. Look at these two goofball’s together! I love them so much.
Ryan baby wore Sterling a lot while we were out and about, which also made my heart explode in a million pieces! Hot dads baby wear P.S.
This one cracks me up with their matching “side eye”
We took an amazing family hike, with the whole crew, including my 82-year-old grandma! It was a fairly easy hike, but brought you to the most beautiful views! Here we all are, I love this picture.
This was on our way up
Woooho! We all made it!!! Sterling of course wants my phone and/or my walking stick.
My new favorite picture of us!!! My heart.
This hike was so much fun, and check out our view!!
The fogged rolled in literally when we made it to the top, but you get the point 🙂
While we were there, the town had a little harvest going on! We stopped by to check out the Shaker Village, and the last two remaining Shaker members! The Shaker’s are a religious group, but they don’t believe in sex. Hence them only having two members left! A man and a woman. It’s pretty cool actually, google it! Their village was gorgeous, and they had local farmers helping them out.
Sterling enjoyed the live band that was playing, and was being super cuddly towards Ryan! It was sweet.
Sterling also loved this little pumpkin set up, and cried when we tried taking her away from them LOL
The Shaker Village was on these gorgeous rolling hills, and they had livestock there too. Sterling loved seeing the animals!! She’s an animal-loving Scorpio.
One of the best things about Maine in the Fall are the leaf changes!!!!! We were there a little early still for the change, surprisingly, but check this tree out! I fell in love the minute I saw it. I love how it’s the only one around, that’s bright and beautiful.
I love how bright and bold the colors are! Being with all of our family though was the best part for me though! Here’s a super swe
et shot of the McNally side of the family 😉
That is four generations! I love that Sterling has these pictures forever.
I hope you enjoyed seeing some of our family time away! Family is so important to us, and these moments are everything in life. Xo
