Kalahari Resort – America’s Largest Indoor Waterpark
Thank you Kalahari Resorts for hosting us! All thoughts an opinions are my own.
We recently had the opportunity to visit Kalahari Resorts in the Pocono Mountains, we went with our friends and it was so fun! If you’ve never been to the Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania you should add it to your list – it’s beautiful! Make sure you book a stay at Kalahari Resorts! Kalahari is a family-friendly, and there is fun for all ages! (even adult fun…drinks, anyone?) With their indoor and outdoor waterparks, there is SO much to do! Rides, slides, pools, hot tubs, arcade and even a spa – the entire family will love their time spent here!
It’s been a long, cold winter here in New Jersey and I desperately needed some warmth and “summer vibes”. Kalahari keeps the temperature set at a lovely 85 degrees all year round….and let me tell you, that is freakin’ AMAZING when it’s 20 degrees and snowing outside. I really love that Kalahari wants you to have as much time as possible at their waterpark, so they give you access to the park before check-in and also until close on day of check-out!! Awesome, right?
We checked into our room Thursday, changed into our suits, and immediately took the kids downstairs to the waterpark. After a 3 hour car ride we wanted to have them get some energy out before dinner and bedtime. (it worked by the way, they passed out hard at bedtime) When you walk into the waterpark you are instantly entered into a fun zone! Slides, swings, little kid areas, bars – it’s all there ready for you. Kalahari provides life jackets for anyone who needs one, and they have special infant/toddler ones available too which was perfect for us.

We spent a few hours exploring and playing in one of the areas designated for toddlers and little kids, before dinner. Sterling & Jackson are both two-years-old and had so much fun! They really enjoyed all of the animals and water trinkets that were at eye-level with them. Sterling LOVED going down all the mini waterslides, she thought it was the best thing ever! Kalahari is an African themed resort and you will find the theme throughout the resort and waterpark. Both kids loved these giant giraffes!
Kalahari offers multiple options for dining and food choices – bakeries, buffet style, sit-down, burger bar, and even simple pizza and fry places. Our little ones were very sleepy and cranky by dinner, so we opted for a cheese pizza and some french fries…it was perfect and just what we needed after a long day of driving and sliding! Side note : Kalahari sells Starbucks in the bakery downstairs for your morning fix….you’re welcome. 😉
The next morning we woke up and headed downstairs to grab Starbucks and breakfast. Kalahari’s checkout time is 11 am, but just like check-in they allow you access to the waterpark & hotel all day long! After breakfast we packed up our things and brought them to the free luggage storage area that is monitored. Kalahari does this so you can leave all your belongings safe while you play at the waterpark before heading home!
