Hey guys!!! How are you!? Life has been hectic over here! We’ve officially been in our new place for 3 months and it’s starting to really come together!! Yes, it’s taken us that long…lol life with a toddler 😂 Ryan and I really wanted a new, fresh look for our lives as parents! In Florida we combined a bunch of his stuff with my stuff…so it was quite the collection ha! We sold the majority of our things when we moved from Florida to Jersey, so we needed a lot of new pieces! (We didn’t take what couldn’t fit in the POD!) I feel like both of our styles have changed so much over the last four years of being together. We wanted our apartment to reflect that!
*I received our Ameriwood furniture for free, in exchange for my honest review.*
We started with our couch first! We both knew we wanted a sectional, something the whole family could hang out on! That was the beginning piece of furniture for me, that started my vision. We bought a gray couch from Sofa Mania – I love it! Here’s a link – where you can save 10% on any item on their site! (Not sponsored, but you know I’m all about the discount codes, giiiiiirl!) I really wanted light neutrals and pastels in the room, something feminine and chic. Ryan is super chill with how I decorate – as long as he’s comfortable, he could care less. That’s a WIN for me 🤣
The next piece I picked out was this Newport gray coffee table from Ameriwood Home! The moment I saw it, I knew I wanted it! The desk is a light neutral gray (yay!) and the top is a woodgrain. The drawers on the end are actually just knobs, and the middle two knobs open into a drawer! I love that it has a little storage space – with kids storage is EVERYTHING!! Ryan put the desk together and said it was fairly easy! It took him a few hours to do it solo. Our rug is this Vintage Persian from nuLOOM– it really pulls the whole room together in my opinion! The blush pillows are actually velvet, I’m obsessed. I snagged them at Marshall’s – I can’t find the exact pillow, but I linked a few below that are similar! (Same with the basket, which I keep some of Sterling’s toys in!)

Our living room and dining room are connected, so it’s one really big room! We have one long wall that the couch is against, and because it’s a sectional, it separates the room a bit. (Which I love!) I wanted something else in the “dining room” section of the room, but against the empty wall where the couch is – if that makes sense, ha! I also wanted a space where Sterling could keep her toys, but a place I could put some “adult” decor like plants, candles, pictures etc. I looked a lot of pieces, but couldn’t find something I really liked, or something that was the right color. I found the Reese Park Storage Cabinet from Ameriwood and was SO excited!! It was exactly what I had envisioned for a storage space. It was honestly even better then I imagined! Like I said before, storage is EVERYTHING!
How freakin’ pretty is this storage cabinet, Y’all?! Those awesome foldable drawers came with it, score! The bottom space has 8 perfect toddler-sized cubbies, and the side is a door that opens. Inside the door are 3 shelves! Not only is this cabinet the perfect space for my daughter and her toys, it’s aesthetically pleasing for us! This is a piece of furniture that will be in our home for years! Here’s the final outcome with all of Sterling’s things in it!
I really love how it came out. Sterling thinks the cubbies are the best, which is cute! It’s been awesome having a dedicated space for all of her toys, it makes my house feel cleaner. Lol! You can click here for the Ameriwood Reese Cabinet.
The last space I’m sharing with you guys today is our entryway! It’s very simple, but we like simple! We’ve never had an entryway before, so I was excited to find an entryway bench! I mean, it’s a must – right?! Our entryway is very tiny due to being in an apartment, but leaving the space empty felt weird to me. Thankfully Ameriwood Home had this awesome wooden entryway bench with a cushion! I really liked how it looked, and the idea of being able to sit Sterling down to put her shoes on. Speaking of shoes!! The Ameriwood entryway bench has 3 cubbies (storage space!!!!!) for all of our shoes! Which is way more than 3 cubbies worth, but you get the point. I’m huge on things having a place! Can you tell? Haha – I feel more organized that way..lol, anyone else?
For such a small space, I really think this bench was the perfect fit! It would look awesome in any area of your house though, and instead of shoes, you could put baskets! Ryan put together all of the Ameriwood Home pieces himself, (thanks babe!) and the most time consuming one was the cabinet. The coffee table and entryway bench were fairly easy, and he said the directions were easy to follow! Way easier than IKEA, that’s for sure! If you’ve ever put together something from IKEA you understand how bad that sucks 😂 I also knew I wanted hooks for hanging up our jackets / my bags. Hooks = more organization. I’m a such a mom..ha!

Overall we’re really happy with our new pieces from Ameriwood Home, and would recommend to anyone looking to revamp their space! We love love love how our house is coming together, and how homey it feels! This was fun sharing everything with you guys, and once I get our bedroom finished, I’ll show you that and Sterling’s room 🙂 Thanks for stopping by!
